Looking for Squier Bullet or similar for my kid

Want an inexpensive, decent player, relatively narrow neck for my 10 year old. Something along the lines of a Squier Bullet, Yamaha Pacifica, Epi Jr, older Peavey Strat etc would be ideal

How much do you want to spend? I have an import Hamer doublecut in blueburst that I was trying to sell before Christmas. Duncan Designed distortion humbuckers in it, locking Sperzel type tuners. Great shape. I was looking for probably $275 shipped. I could include a case for just a bit more.

I was thinking around $100. Likewise, I think anything derived from a full sized Les Paul is going to be way to big for him. I was mentioning the Squier Bullet, Yamaha, etc, Epi Jr as a starting point of reference.

Thanks though

I picked up a USA Peavey Predator (strat copy) for $65 at a GC last year. For a 10 year old, I'd go for a 3/4 size Fender or Ibanez. New these are around a $100, used $75 or less.

I've got a Squier '51 that I'm thinking of dumping for space. Blonde with an Aftermarket pickguard, GFS Retrotron wired Series-Parallel-SPlit/ neck pup removed. For you, I'd do $100 + actual shipping. I can dig up pics if you're at all interested. No worries if you're not.

Could work - How chunky is the neck?

Re: Looking for Squier Bullet or similar for my kid

Not chunky at all. Typical 9.5" radius modern Tele neck, with that slightly dry, underfinished feel that a lot of Squiers have. Very comparable to the Bullet Strat you mentioned, though in its current arrangement, it's probably a bit less versatile. I'll be glad to include the original pickups (and pickguard, if I can find it) in case you'd prefer to restore it o stock. Worst case, if your kid doesn't stick with it, you've got a pretty cool cheap guitar to bang around on.

I'll take some pics tonight.

BTW, assumign my soundclick site is still up (haven't logged on in years and it's blocked here at work) you can hear the guitar in question on Hope It Made You Cry and Got Me Pegged. http://www.soundclick.com/stgenesiusandtheholyholies

If AniML doesn't want it, I'd take that Squier 51 off you.
