Looking for the best Acoustic around $1K

Re: Looking for the best Acoustic around $1K

The higher end Yamaha are nice. Check out the A5 series, A5 is the dreadnaught and AC5 is the concert body, available with mahogany or rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck w/ebony fretboard

I'm seeing recent (c. 2012) Martin D-18s sell for $1400; two uears ago I bought a practically new but used D-18 Retro (with the fantastic AURA F1+ preamp) for $1200! They are out there.

A Martin Standard Series dread is not just a great guitar, it's one you'll keep for a lifetime.

If you can save up a few more pennies and be patient, you can find the guitar of your dreams.

Good luck, and happy hunting!

Hey Hoss!! Good seeing ya round! First of all, Taylors are great! The newer ones are really amazing since they started with a new bracing style. They have more low end and warmth. BUT, most will be out of your price range..

Seagulls are great guitars for a respectable price. And Breedloves are as well. Ive purchased a Seagull for one of my daughters and a Breedlove for another daughter..

Also, I had a l'arrivée l09 but I couldn't get used to the neck.

Don't know if they have blueridge over there but check them out as well if you can, lots of guitar for the money!

I'll throw in another vote for the Eastmans, played some at a local shop and was blown away.

In all transparency
My above evaluation comparing Eastman to Taylor
Was in the sub $1k 12 string market
I did not play 6 strings in my comparison

I have two nice six strings
