Looking Into a New Guitar

Hey im looking at maybe purchasing a gretsch (undecided what model), rickenbacker (360 or 381) or a Les Paul Gibson for my next guitar and was wondering what you all think of those kinds of guitars and what the ups and downs of each guitar would be.

depends on what kinda sound you are going for and the type of music ... i've always considered gretsch and ricky to be 'one trick' ponies .. EXCELLENT for what they do, but not associated with versatility, per se ...

... as for the LP, well, it does a ton of things really well if you get one that has good quality control ... kinda pricey though ... funny, i don't associate the LP with doing the things that the gretsch or the ricky do
