loop pedals???

i was looking into loop pedals since i have a song i'm working on now that would sound great with 3 guitars but my band only has 2 lol. it's a quick and simple repeating lead line in one area of the song that i'd like to use a loop pedal for while i play another part and the other guitarist a third part. so i need a loop pedal that can handle high gain use and loop my one lead part while i play rhythm under it without it turning into a muddy wall of noise. the longer the loop time the better obviously. so does anyone know of a good loop pedal that can do this? so far the only one i found that looks to be great with it's record and playback features etc. is the zvex lofi loop junky but i rather not spend $350 on a pedal if i don't have to. also if the part can be pre-recorded by me and saved like the lofi loop junky can do and then just turned on when the part is needed that would be best.

any ideas? also i don't need it to do anything other than loop but if it does i guess it can't hurt to have more toys lol.

man all this for one song lol, i'd better find future use for this thing haha. the way i look at it is if i record it in the studio with 3 guitar parts then i better be able to do it live or it would just be lame and this looks like the best way to do it since we can't figure out how to get two guitarists to play 3 guitar parts hehehehehe!

The Boss DD-5 has a very short loop (2 seconds) but, it is a pain to "record" and to be honest with only 2 seconds it's more just to make some noise...not very good.

There is the Lo-Fi loop junkie which is cool, but quirky and as the name implies...Lo-Fi, and it still does not have that much in the way of Loop time.

There is the Boss RC20XL Loop Station (http://www.rolandus.com/products/details.asp?catid=3&subcatid=21&prodid=RC-20XL) which has up to 16 minutes of record time and will remember up to 11 different loops. I have not tried one of these, but hear great things. They can be had for right at about $300.00 new.

Then there is the Boomerang (http://www.boomerangmusic.com/) which is considered to be the mack daddy sampler/loop pedal. It does not have the record time that the boss soes, but it can do harmonys, overdubs, etc...in real time, on the fly. They retail for almost $600.00 and to be honest I don't know what they sell for, but if you just want a loop I think that the Boss Loop station wiould be your best bet.

THere was a thread a few days ago about this. For simple loops, get the line6 DL4...for more complicated looping, the echoplex digital pro. if you don't want your loops to sound like mud, don't get anything with 'lo-fi' in the name. both the echoplex and line 6 sound crystal clear.
if you plan to pre-record the loop (bah), you might consider the Boss RC-20, but live manipulation of the loop is much harder with that box.

for live rhythmic looping (what you are planning on doing), it is imperitive your drummer hear the loop well and you can play in time.

You could sell off some of your delay gear and grab a Line6 Delay Modeler.

Great delays and a 14 second loop. You could probably pick one up for 200 if you look.
