i had great experiences with the akai. its a pretty awesome delay unit too.

Re: Looper?

+1 oh the akai, get the e2 though it's built better. great looper, i traded it in for a Nova Delay.

Re: Looper?

I've got a Jamman, but wish I knew about the Headrush when I bought. Jamman is better for storing loops but the Headrush is easier to loop on the fly I think.

Re: Looper?

umm depends on the kind of looping you do...or want to do. Or if storing loops is important. I use a few different ones. A Boss RC2 for practice- a great tool, but a pain to use live. I also use a Line6 M13 or DL4 for live loop improvisations. For looping my ambient stuff, I use an Oberheim Echoplex Digital Pro- really the king of loopers out there...but like I said, it depends on what you want to do with it.

Re: Looper?

I have used the Boss rc-2 and the RC-20XL. If you go Boss.. spend the extra $$ for the XL. The RC-2 mixing functioned was almost useless for gain. The sound quality degraded a lot. Never tried the others, but the Line6 looks like the one I would try next if I ever want to give the looper thing another shot. It takes a lot of skill to use any looper for live work, but they are all good for practice. I would use them to compose leads.

Re: Looper?

On paper, the Boss RC2 sounds like a great pedal.

For live use, its very complicated IMO. Not very user friendly. I must have read the poorly written manual about a dozen times. :dot:

Re: Looper?

The twin pedal version is significantly easier and sounds better as well.

Re: Looper?

I use the headrush a lot for my solo gigs... simple to use and does what I want it to do... It gets my vote.
