Lotus Guitar - Where To Find Info

I have a Lotus F2258 (number on the back of the neck) electric guitar that someone gave me. It looks like it could be a mix between a Fender Jag or Mustang but does not look anything like a jagstang. It has a single coil at the neck and a humbucker at the bridge. It has a sunburst finish with white, 2-peice pickguard. It has a single volume and single tone know with a three position switch. I would love to find out more info on this guitar if anyone could possilby help. I have googled around for a while and could only find strat knock-offs. I even did some image searching and found nothing.

I never heard about lotus guitar. Could you post some pics and say how it plays and sounds?

I've heard of lotus, but never seen anything other than cheap copy strats and pauls.

I've always wanted one, but only for the name

But the jag mustang mix sounds seriously cool. Especially if it's nothing like the jag-stang.

I bought an 80's lotus Jackson copy a few years ago. it looked sweet but it was crap. Plywood body.

I threw away the body. kept the neck and a few other parts but will probably never use them.

Lotus made great cheap copies back in the day.

Really, for someone getting a "beginner" guitar these days are spoiled. I don't think you can understand how bad cheap guitars were 20 years ago. Now you can get a really good, respectable guitar for $100. Back then, $100 got you an unplayable load of crap, plywood and plastic that was on the verge of imploding. Lotusi were high end beginner guitars.

I did play a Lotus that was kind of shaped like a double cut LP or Hamer- that was a genuinely nice guitar.

OK, Here are the pics of the guitar. All in all, it plays decent - it sounds completely different having put new pickups on it. It has a tremolo bar too but I didn't have it on for the pic. If anyone has any info on this thing (age, new sale value, current value, etc I would be interested in that). I think it is a pretty decent playing guitar.

if you mean you think it is a piece of crap - you're probably right - but it sounds much better since I put the SD Destroyer HB and the Scorcher DR in it.
