loud speakers

what is the loudest 12" speaker you guys know of? not looking for a evm but i need to replace a greenback with something louder

so what ya think?

Eminence wizard is louder than any I have tried at 103db

Wizard, Swamp Thang, Governer, there are several more from the Emi line, but these are all louder by a decent margin.

Word on the street is that 'dem old Fanes are hella loud.

Email Ted Weber and ask him. I've gotten some interesting responses from him to those responses depending on speaker size. He'll give you true s/n ratios. I'm not sure you can completely trust the marketing literature on a lot of what is now out there.

V30 is 3db louder than the Greenback IIRC

i have an old v30 and g12h which are louder but im not buying any chinese made celestions and im not paying the crazy prices they want for the english made ones. so im thinking weber or eminance

The Weber High Powered Series might be up your alley. I have a California series 10" in my Princeton reverb. That Lil' 12 watt combo rattles the walls when cranked w/t that Speaker.

As far as I know this speaker with 102db sensitivity is five db more than most speakers that roughly is like doubling your wattage (not your volume)

depends whether you like the tone though! and what wrong with English made speakers you want to see the price of American made stuff over here:sigh:

I agree that there are quite a few of the Eminence now that are high powered/ high efficiency. I just haven't tried any.

since you like Celestions, what about the "Heritage" series? aren't those made in England?

yeah but im not sure i wanna pay that much if i dont have too. $220 is the best ive seen for the g12h-30w heritage. i can get an alnico weber for less than that

Nobody seems to like them, but a standard G12T-75 would be my suggestion.
Cetec-Gauss made some of the finest speakers ever conceived, but good luck finding them!!!!
