I should have taken this thing with me on deployment. Just getting reacquainted and man, was I missing out. It didn't grab me right off the bat but over the last couple years I've really started to dig the versatility of a Tele. I'm not sure what the neck pup is-Teleish or Stratish-but I know it's snappy and sounds like I want it to. The bridge is bright and bites but with a little roll off of tone I can jam along with Priest and Maiden all day long.

And...it's looks are pure sacrelidge. A few years after this, they redid the looks with a tort guard and middle pickup but this is a direct carryover from the Model 7-identical in every way except the fretboard and the logo. I love it.

Totally dig it-- I'm a tele fan and a Charvel fan, so this is like the perfect blend of both!

I wish I could post some clips of this thing through my craptacular Behringer V-Tone that I have on the corner of my desk. Even though my playing is sloppy (I just can't bring myself to hike the thing up past Steve Clarke level) it's impossible not to fit into a mix, just playing along with stuff on the ipod, with nothing but the stock whatever MIJ bridge pup, the volume, and the tone. I've always appreciated a good Tele bridge tone but DAMN it can even ape a fairly convincing humbucker sound by rolling the tone down to about 6. JESUS TAPDANCING CHRIST I WANT A TELE BRIDGE ON EVERYTHING.

Duty sucks but being trapped for 24 hours with this thing makes it just about the best duty day, ever.

Killer guitar, by the way. Not my style at all, but I love how Teles can adapt to pretty much any genre with just some minor aesthetic tweaks.

Like I said-that's my favorite part! It's pure Tele on the inside with something else out. It's a school bus with sidepipes, Margaret Thatcher in leopard print spandex, a screen door on a submarine, tits on a boar...
