Low end Martin Laminates??

Hey, I know most of the low end Martin guitars are using laminate woods and such.. I assume its really not an issue as Im sure Martin knows how to do it right. Anything to be concerned with?? I played one of the 12 string the other day and liked it quite a bit.

Re: Low end Martin Laminates??

I have a 000. I really like it for what it is. The neck and sides are crazy durable so I don't worry about my kids smashing it up. It plays great and feels good. A bit dark but a string change helps that. It's my go to around the house guitar. The sides are admittedly lame looking up close but it plays great

It will be interesting to see how it holds up as things shift over time but I got it for such a deal I'm not super worried

Oh yea the electronics are surprisingly good for that price point

Re: Low end Martin Laminates??

I saw the laminate necks and they seem like they would be crazy stable
Mine is a 98 triple 0
So I don't have any practical experience

Do you have a picture of yours?
I can't imagine the laminate sides of which you speak

Re: Low end Martin Laminates??

I think they sound great and look like they will last a long time. I think they sound great too.

I personally would rather save up for a solid wood one but that's just me.

The back and sides are laminate representations of wood. Think of a bad kitchen cabinet
