Low turn pickups

I just found out about PRS's 58/15LT pickups they are now putting in their 594 guitars. I like the idea, more of a single coil sound, but in a humbucker. & the premise makes sense. The videos I've seen sound like they do get the sound of a single coil... more high end clarity & definition.

Does Seymour Duncan offer a low turn alternative?

Sounds like what John Mayer is using. I'm going to get an earful tonight at Fenway park for Dead Co.

Nothing Duncan makes (or anyone else) sound like the 5x/Xx pickups from PRS. They are their own food group.

Whether that is a good or bad thing is up to the individual set of ears.

Output wise, it would be a Jazz/AP2. But tonally, nothing in the production lineup sounds the same. The clarity with wax and covers while still retaining beef is pretty wild.

Yeah, I can't think of anything that SD makes that is close to that, at least not the way PRS does it.. Of course there are the regular single coil sized hum-cancelling pickups like the Vintage Rails or Classic Stacks, too. I haven't heard those pickups, but I like the idea, even though I am not a single coil guy (mostly). I am sure the idea could be explored in the Custom Shop, though.

I haven't seen the specs on these, but it occurs to me that they may have more coil offset as well as fewer turns overall. Not surprisingly, that generally delivers a more singlecoily sound.

To my understanding, they are just PAF-style pickups wound in the seven point something K range, and both the bridge and neck pickups are the same wind. Not sure about what type of alnico they use, but my guess is using two Duncan PAF-type neck pickups in both positions would give a similar vibe.
