Hey Brow, why not just get an attenuator like a THD Hotplate? I'm sure that would be cheaper than a new amp!

Hey Jeff.

Believe it or not, this was the exact same reply that TO sent to me in a PM! :D

Thinking about it, it is a cheaper option. Are attenuators available that are ok with both 8 and 16 ohm loads? As that may be a better option than a new amp.

I s'ppose I just got caught up in the thrill of wanting new gear :D

Yessir, the Weber Mass is available with a 4/8/16 ohm switch! :)

Thanx for the info Jeff :)

The problem I have with the Mass is that the 3 amps I'd be using the Attenuator on are rated at 30w (Orange AD30), 60w (Marshall JTM60) and 100w (Marshall JCM800 2210). So that automatically means I have to buy the higher powered product.

Would using a 100w Weber mass on my 30w Orange damage anything?

Nope! It'd be like running a 30W head into a 100W cabinet ;).

Attenuatorss, the new Weber's ot a THD are great units. Also the Damage Control tube preamp/od things may be the ticket. They are pretty new so you may not have heard of them.

I am not a fan of the tone but some like the H&K Tubman as well for your purposes.
