LP floating pick guard

Hello,

I have a LP from one of the years that did not come with a pick guard. (Actually, now that I think about it, it is the guitar in my profile pic to the left.)

I am not sure if I want one, but I am curious to see people's solutions for mounting one without drilling the guitar. I have a few ideas of my own, but I want to see if anyone has a better solution.

Thanks.

P.S. Anyone know just which years came without the pick guards?

I used 2x-sided tape to secure the part under the p/ups on my Epi,but it's a poly finsh...
With Nitro,I probably wouldn't bother, honedstly.I prefer the feel of the top.

Are you thinking along the lines of levitation or some sort of mind-over-matter to gt it to 'float' above the guitar? Like a hovercraft?

Take off! :D

My ideas all involve different ways of mounting it to the pickup rings, obviously. But exactly how people are doing it is what I am curious about.

In your avatar, it looks cool without the pickguard. I really like how LPs look without pickguards.

Re: LP floating pick guard

Half have them, half don't. Just depends on the phase of the moon, and the position of Sagitarius...

As for the tiny single hole - whatever. Don't even notice it. The positions are pretty non-intrusive. The bigger issue is the nut/bolt UNDER the pg if you ever take it off, IMO. That can put a nasty mark in an obvious out in the open spot.

There's a guy on MyLesPaul.com forums that sells them. They're like the one that Eblis posted. It may be the same guy.
