LP Jr upgrade to TonePros wraparound

What a difference! Put a TonePros AVT2G-N wraparound on the Jr., sustain and resonance increased dramatically. Might be a touch brighter but that could be because I have the action dialed in perfectly now. Also have the intonation spot on now too.

I really like the TonePros stuff, made everything I have used their parts on better.

I loved this guitar already but now it's ridiculous!

The engineer part in me tells me that the improved coupling between parts that a Tonepro's bridge should give can only improve matters.

I've heard similar improvements using their TOM and stoptail posts. On a wraptail though I'd want a solid bar, not a TOM-style as I prefer to have that one massive bar vibrating instead of one tiny saddle. It makes it sound like the biggest Tele you ever heard.

Re: LP Jr upgrade to TonePros wraparound

The difference between the stock Gibson bridge to the StewMac-Badass style wraparound I had on was fairly minor tone wise. The ability to get it intonated more than made up for the small loss of resonance, I could never get the G close enough for my sanity with the stock bridge. I couldn't get the action where I wanted it with the StewMac wrap, it sits fairly high and bottoms out a little too soon for me. The guitar was certainly playable but there was a lot left on the table.
The TonePros killed it for me. The action is now right where I want it, it has far more adjustability for the intonation, it is clamped down solid and it is machined far better the either of the other 2 bridges I've had on the it. A really good sounding guitar came completely alive now.

I've used their TOM's before and I am very happy with them, I was silly taking so long to try their wraparound.

Yeah yours has the '60s era stud alignment - you need a lightning bolt bridge for the G to even get close. Mine is the offset '50s style and it intonates just fine with the stock Gibson wrap. If I had the '60s arrangement I'd look at the Tone Pros too, or a Pigtail.

Considerable difference between the 2 styles for sure.

The lightning bar just doesn't do enough. I've had the Wilkinson's which have the section move for the G and B strings and they work pretty well too.
