I got a Faded P90 LP and noticed on the G string i have to crank the saddle all the way back and it's still not quite enough to be perfectly intonated. What can i do?

Change the string.

I went 25 years before I got a "bad" string, I couldn't intonate it for nothing...

Also try raising or lowering the action a little bit. The height of your strings from the fingerboard does have an effect on where ya gotta have the saddle at to intonate. So alotta times if ya run out of saddle travel on an tune'o'matic bridge, just raiseing or lowering the action by a millimeter or two will change stuff enough to give you a little saddle travel back so you can intonate properly.

Re: LP Spcial DC Intonation problem

earvana sells a replacement nut for gibsons that eliminates intonation issues on all strings. www.earvana.com. Raising the string action will only increase the amount to which the string sounds off pitch and the G string is the most problematic on all the fretlengths. unfortunatly, the only true way to fix it, unless it is a bad string, is to lengthen or shorten the distance between the nut and bridge. if you can't move the bridge then you have to change the nut. figure about $100. but then it will sound sweeter than anything you've ever heard.

First just make sure the nut slot is clean and even. If that doesn't get it change the string, you can also flip the saddle to get a little more range.
