Madison Amps?

Anybody actually play one of these things. I've read and heard many good things and i have also heard some horror stories about them as well. They have gotten my attention because of the bands The Absence and 3 Inches of Blood play them.

Re: Madison Amps?

There was a big scam story etc. on harmony central a while back, lets just say that I would never buy anything from them, ******n liars and scammers.

And by the way, if you're thinking about 3 Inches of Blood's sound on their latest record, they didn't use madison, they used mesa boogie's, but I can't remember which model, dual rectifier perhaps? I don't know, I talked to Cam about it, but it's a long time ago. I'll see if I can find out.

There are way too many horror stories about the reliability (or more importantly, the lack thereof) of Madison amps. I bought a 2x12'' birch cabinet a long time ago on eBay from them and it served me pretty well until I upgraded to the Bogners I have now. From what I've gathered, the wiring on the amps are complete messes (electrical tape to keep wires together, etc.), so I'd say to stay far away.

Yeah, they used dual rectos on Advance and Vanquish and they are using dual rectos live too I believe.

All I know is that I played one at a jam last year and was pretty impressed with the tone.

Re: Madison Amps?

Actually i saw 3 inches of blood live at a small club and talked to the guitarist and they do use em live and said they enjoyed em.

Who gives a **** how they sound? Any company that will leave knobs disconnected and use duct tape to hold wires together, and then tell someone to "**** off" when they ask about it doesn't deserve to stay in business.
