Mag Mic battery usage?

I've just got my Mac Mic and mounted it in the acoustic.

Got a quest I can't find any answer to in the documentation. I've heard somewhere that the battery is used (as in most guitar devices) only when you've plugged in. I hope so and so the battery doesn't drain when the guitar is at rest un-connected, especially as you need to take off the strings to replace it.

Can anyone confirm that battery usage is when plug in only?

yes that is true. i have a magmic and the battery lasts a very long time. i unplug it when im not playing and the battery lasts months

Thank's a lot. I read a notion about lasting for more than 400 hours, but without the 'unplug and release' option it's no time .

I was quite certain that it had that function, but found it a bit strange that it's not mentioned in any documentation. Just wanted to be sure. Thanks!
