alright, today i was lucky enough for my mom take me to guitar center while she did all of her shopping and stuff. i walked in there with a plan, and this plan was to play all the guitars i can through the mesa boogie mark 4 combo they had. and thats what i did
so, i first grabbed an ibanez rg320fm cause i really like the look and feel of it. got a nice john petrucci sound out of the neck pipckup. put a slight upside down V shaped in the 5 band EQ and got a great tone. but teh guitar's set up was really crappy so i put it down. io then grabbed a PRS custom 22 and, eh it sounded alright. nothing special, sounded just like any other guitar. the pickup switching was a pain though. then picked up a music man axis guitar which was really cool but the bridge pickup was a bit bright and didn't really go well with it.
so after that, i decided to look around at the other stuff. i played some other PRS's, a fender lite ash strat(reall nice sounding), and some other stuff. and i then just sat down next to a fender blues deville combo, the 4x12 one. there were a bunch oif telecasters around so i grabbed a 52's reissue. i swear there must've been a wiring problem becaus ethe nekc pickup was so damn muddy. sounded like the tone pot was completely on 0.
put that abck and grabbed the nashville series telecaster and let em tell you this: that has got to be the best deal for an fender guitar out there these days. such a fat tone from the bridge, and the enck pickup was to die for. everything on that guitar was nearly perfect and at only $450 it's a damn good deal.
then i went into one of the rooms and saw this yamaha guitar. i guess it was a signature guitar cause it said ty tabor and had duncans in it and a wilkinson trem on it. the guitar was even worse set up than the ibanez so i spent about 20 min setting it up but iot was definitely worth it. that tone from that guitar into that amp was just perfect. great cutting tone, i thiink the bridge pickup was a JB and i know it had 2 vintage rails in the neck and middle spots. what a great tone, a guy even came up to me and complemented me on the tone. so we talkked about gear and stuff for about 30 minutes. that amp :32:
that yamaha :32:
and that freaking telecaster!! :32:
best th8ing is that the yamaha is only about 500!!!
next itme i go, im getting that thing. perfect tone!!!!!!
overall it was a great day, and i want that yamah!!! :yell:
