Making Tele Neck

Anyone know of any good tutorials on how to make a good tele neck? I've got rough 4/4 stock of quartersawn maple, what size do you guys use for your fretboard-free necks?

the shaping can be done anyway you want. i usually use a bandsaw to cut the basic shape, then an oscillating sander to get it close, and thickness sand the headstock with a jig. for frets i use a fret saw on the neck! :D i have a fret press, but ive used a fret hammer plenty of times to get em in. a fret bending/radius tool is very helpful to pre-radius the fretwire, especially with ss frets.

how big do you want the neck? i like a 1" thick neck (including fretboard) from nut to heal. 2 3/16" is standard head width

I was actually considering pulling out my dremel for the nut slot.

But the truss rod thing does remind me I need to research how to do the skunk stripe
