Man, I wish this Custom Shop pickup was a production model....

every things a custom shop pup if you ask for it!

the two biggest things id really like to see in the production line are like an 8k #42 a5 strat bridge pup and something like the brobucker since they fill gaps in the lineup.

Sure it is, but there are some standard models of CS pickups which are on the site. Those tend to get ordered more than new designs, I'd think. I was really just curious about what pickups on the CS site really should be on the regular site. I know for me, I'd have a few more than I do if they were at production prices.

I tend to feel the unique signatures (Charlie Christian, Bonnamassa Amos) and weird innovative cross combos (things like P-90 in a Strat or Melody Maker cover, humbucker under Jazzmaster, or '53 tapped tele) those sound like legit Custom Shop...

....meanwhile the standard drop-in replacement pickup types that are variants of production pickups (RTM, Frankenstein, Hunter, Concept Set, Eclair) or pickups that already have sister/brother production variants (Pearly Gates for Tele, Pearly Gates for Strat - there's already JBjr and Lil'59 and a trembucker Pearly for Big Apple strat, etc.; why not have these Pearlies as production?), the latter feel like they should be production. Doesn't seem like that the latter require a special wind, special wire or special non-standdard components to make in order to require Custom Shop status. All Custom Shop does is delay receiving it.

There are a few that occur to me but the custom shop page isn't working properly for me so I can't check if they're listed.

Antiquity Texas Hot set
Antiquity JB
Maybe pearly gates plus

...and I doubt the following pickups are:
- 59A4
- Tb-55 with 4 wire and uncovered available
- Hybrid 59/jazz neck as a set combined with the hybrid bridge.

I'm guessing most of them would be reasonably popular too.

Or, maybe a simplified version of the Antiquities without the aging. Call them "Contemporary Antiquites".

They did have those and they were called "retrospec'd", but I can't find anything about them on the site now.

Yeah, not too long ago, either. I don't know what happened to them.
Also, the 51 P-Bass Stack gets a ton of love on the TalkBass forum. I bet they wouldn't mind if there was a version that could be a production pickup.

You can, or used to be able to get a Shop Floor Custom as "Worn" with a lightly aged cover and darkened, aged filisters.

Actually at one point a few years back was interested in an Ant P-90 neck with a non-aged cover (in general I don't see the point in "aged" stuff and in a relatively new guitar with new pickups it really would be stupid) but would have been prohibitively expensive.
