I've heard the new Marshalls these days aren't as good as they used to be and companies made cheaper and better quality clones of marshall amps.
name some
Ceria has some clones of Marshall, Vox, Matchless, and Fender amps. I haven't hear them in action, but they are not too expensive. They are available as kits or complete. http://ceriatone.com/
Also check out Frenzel. They have a bunch of models available, which are variations of the same famous amps. My head is a late '50s Bassman copy, which was built by Jim Frenzel. The prices have gone up a little since I got mine, but they are getting more and more popular. http://frenzeltubeamps.com/
Isn't the Edana 45 based on a JTM or something, i cant remember, thats one bitchin amp though, i love the Irish flag tolex.
Its such a good deal for 950, beats any marshall reissue. www.celticamps.com
Yes indeed. The Edana is based on the venerable and smokin JTM-45 circuit. Great sounding peice of kit right thar. Does everything from Peter Green to Angus Young tones with the right speakers (G12H30's).
Here's mine.
The cherry head enclosure costs a bit more, but it's worth it IMHO.
