I have the Kerry King 800 too along with the JVM and love it.
The plus over the JVM is the onboard noise gate, the minus is the lack is switching capabilities. Tonewise, they are pretty equal.
The JVM has more gain and more sizzle to its gain, as well as tighter lowend. While the 800 is more raw. When the beast boost is engaged it amps up the gain and mids, but honestly sounds like a solid state pedal was just turned on. The robust 6550s counter that aspect by providing a nice wide tube feel and punch.
Not sure which I prefer, but I do play the JVM more. I like its level of compression, its high end and low end and how well it gels with V30s.
