Are you sure the 65W Celestion came as early as 1978? I've red it came in 1981 when the JCM 800 era began.

Throughout 79 a 1960 cab could still come with 25 watt black backs or come with the new 65s. Many of the last JMP era cabs came with 65s.

its said that the older the cabinet, the better it sounds, probably cause the same reason an old guitar sounds better- better old growth wood, and construction, plus the aging of the old wood.
