there's something about them I just don't like....kind of a grainy/floppy/buzzy high end (and as much as I like El-34s the 6L6s sounded better to me). I did tweak it a bit, and never could eliminate that sound.

was it plugged into a mesa cabinet?
try playing a recto through a marshall cabinet :bigok: :approve:
it makes a world of difference.

I am sure that one was into a Mesa cab. The other may have been into a 5150 cab..I don't remember 100%... if not it was a Mesa cab too.

sorry guys i guess i kind of over reacted, my apologies. MRID, i really did not intended bucking heads or anything, and in truth i really won't hold a grudge against you, so i guess i will be the bigger man and say sorry man, i guess i really over reacted.

Cool, maybe you'll think before posting next time? If by "bigger man" you mean that you posted a rediculously inappropriate verbal tirade against me that was quoted multiple times before you realized the error of your ways, then yes, you are the "bigger man." Of course, if we go by conventional definitions, then I am, in fact, the "bigger man" because I withdrew my response to your vicious attack.

OK..so anyone got some links to boogie clips? I know about Chris Snider's page, and the Mesa site doesn't have anything (at least that I can find..hard site to navigate IMO)

I'm particularly interested in the LoneStar/Lonestar Special,and the F-30...

alright, i dont wana get into this at all but... dude he appologized, so hows about u lay off a little and just be nice.

ANYWAYS... i tend to agree with the rectifier, more specifically the rectoverb. i really like those, and i bet with the right tweaking you could get a marshall sound out of it, and a lot more. the ones i have tried really can cover a lot of ground.
