for that much $$, i'd hold off for an amp with verticall inputs.

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

Ive seen the vert imput ones go for $750USD around Christmas time. awesome amp!

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

What is a vertical input? Is it make much difference? Which would be preferred between this and the jcm 2000 -dsl40?

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

yes, get vert imput. that is the amp with 2 guitar plugs - one on top of the other. better circuitry. get a 4010 dont settle for less!

So this ebay sale do not have vertical input? Can i just a put a verticul input ontop of the current plug?? How to see whether the vertical input is there or not :D

Save your money--buy a Mesa.

I had a 4010 like the one in the picture.

I like my Mesa DC-3 A LOT better!!!!

i would wait and get the vert. you cant mod it for vert really. you may have to wait a few months...but if ur in a hurry and are all jazzed up for one...I love jcm800s ...you plug in guitar and out comes tone. u need more volume then plug in another cab. no need to fiddle with all the fancy knobs imo

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

I have the two channel version and it rocks! Only thing is that I wish it was a half stack haha

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

the mesa is incredibly expensive here..over budget :D
How to check whether this amp here have vertical input or not? People say there isnt one, but how do i check them?

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

you look at it

1) if the 2 inputs are horizontal on top of each other, they are not the 2 vert inputs! :)

^ *drools some*

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

Thnaks for the picture and information..so i decided...not to get it due to the vertical inputs..patiently waiting for another deal :D

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

Just wait bro , honestly i waited a while for one to pop up in my home town ,but its worth all the wait,Vertical inputs is the one you want.

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

must i settle for the dsl401 eventually
No. Dude, don't do it. I had one of those.

The OD has to be EXCRUCIATINGLY loud before it sounds good, and the clean channel has no volume before a nasty unwanted kind of breakup sets in.

A horizontal input 800 would kick a DSL 401's ass, at least for your standard Marshall type tones. But hold out for a vert input amp, patience is a virtue.

And, by the way, ****, since when is '84 vintage? Vintage for scotch maybe, but amps?

Re: Marshall JCM 800 4010 Combo 50 Watt Vintage 1984

If not the dsl401, maybe im going for the peavey classic 30, whoch i can get for the same price of the dsl..The DSL401 i can get 2nd hand while the peavey, cant seem to find any
