Marshall/Mesa trade?

I've got a marshall JCM2000 TSL122 combo. Recently i was offered a 900 dollars for it, which is what i payed for it used. Now i just got another offer of a Mesa Boogie single rectifier with a Marshall 4x12 Cab (JCM 900) for 1000 dollars. The guy let me borrow it and i've played two gigs with it and i absolutly love the tone. My question is: is this a fair trade from the marshall to a mesa? I'm basically making a straight trade here just with a few people involved. Oh, i just retubed the marshall too.... the JCM2000 is 100watt all tube with 2 12s. the single rectifier is 50 watts with 4 12s.

you can get a mesa single for 800 off of ebay, so it looks like you will come up a head depending on what you paid for the Marshall

Thats a fair trade, you are both getting a reasonable deal, i'd say you will have done the best though! If you like the mesa better, its a win win situation.

that's kinda what i was thinking, definitly a win win. I paid 900 for the marshall.... it's just ... well, she's my baby haha. i'm gonna really miss my little combo.

Yeah i know what you mean, i've had trouble parting with my DSL combo, but i know its in the best interests of my tone!

I had all these plans for it too. I was gonna get a sick ORANGE 2 12 cab to go with it, and i just got the tubes replaced last week.....but, yeah, the tone is where it's at. I about melted like butter when i plugged into it.

Looks like a good trade to me...If you like the Mesa tone, then you should go for it...it'd be great to have both, and maybe you can someday, but right now you should do whatever gets you the sound you want right now...

I will trade off the Marshall for the Boogie with the difference of 100 bucks

I even willing to sell off my DSL401 for the JCM900 which I just bought for about 100 bucks more

I actually think that's a great trade. I think the Mesa is a hella cool amp. I will say the 900 cab is not my fave.

I'm playing a single rectifier through a jcm900 cab right now.. a great rig.. I think the trade is a good deal.. although I'd like to try it with an oversized rectifier standard.. problem with my jcm900 is that it's 16 ohms.. while the highest impedance from the mesa is 8 ohm

800 for a mesa single on ebay?.. good bargain.. I dunno if I'd buy a tube amp off of ebay though.. I'd want a warranty on a mesa..ha ha

I might actually get a different cab later... but for now, I definitly think this is something to jump on. the cab has 4ohm or 16ohm mono, and 8ohm stereo. My friend just got a hookup on some Orange Cabs. That's kinda what i wanna move towards when i save up some more money.
