I love my DC-5, so of course I'll recommend it, but the tone of these two amps is markedly different. If you like Mesa's, then cool, if you like Marshall, then cool too. I don't agree with the statement above about the lead channel being more of a Mark series tone versus the rectifier tone. I can get the most brutal metal imaginable out of my DC-5. A lot of this has to do with the killer graphic EQ.
If you go with the Marshall I'd like contact with whoever you know that is selling the DC-5 head. I like my combo a lot, but I need more speakers on the road and would love to have a head version...
