Marshall VS100

I found a Marshall VS100 head for dirt cheap. We're talking under ten bucks. Of course, there's a catch. The preamp doesn't work. The owner says they took it to a repair shop and they estimated it would be around $90 with labor. The owner also said they had this problem before. The head also doesn't come with a footswitch. So, I'm wondering, would this be worth buying?

Re: Marshall VS100

I spend $10 every 2 days on cigarettes. Any amp for that price is worth it.

Re: Marshall VS100

Buy it. Period.

Even if it only becomes your "stunt amp".

It's a great metal amp....it's got the tonal shape of a Marshall, but the ultra-fast response and "sterileness" (made-up word) of a solid-state amp. For $100 total, I'd buy it, buy it, buy it.

Even if you only play it twice a month. Divide the price you pay by the next few years......you'll soon find it very satisfying, regardless of your musical style.

Re: Marshall VS100

Just screw the preamp and put a pod or similar into the effect return.
They sound better like that anyway IMO than with the amps preamp.

Re: Marshall VS100

Any Marshall head is worth 100 bucks, even a Valvestate....you should be shot for having to ask:laugh2:
