2 volumes is awesome for the middle position. otherwise, you have no control over it.

its harder to decide when the guitar only has two knobs. on my prs i'm trying out a simple 2 volume setup, and i dont find myself missing the tone knob. on my strat however, i couldn't live without one.

A volume & tone for each PU. To me, anything less is a compromise. I want to have flexibility to adjust & blend each PU, plus I want to have the most options available for push-pulls, even if I don't use them currently in that guitar. I also use 250K pots on my many of my bridge PU's (any with an A5 or A4 magnet), with 500K's on the neck. I've got a number of reasons why I want 2 volume, 2 tone.

Do all my guitars have 2+2? No, but almost all do.

I like having individual volume knobs. Like on my LP if I want dirt with the bridge HB and clean with the neck HB, I can have the bridge pickup volume full and I can roll off the neck volume to about 2.

I like whatever is on the guitar. On my LP, I use all 4 quite a bit. However, I do not miss the extra controls when I switch to my Strat, and don't even miss the extra tone knob on my superstrats.

In all likelihood, I could get by with just a master volume, but I like having the other options (when present). I don't really get too much into blending different amounts of the pickups on a Gibson, though. The most I usually do with both pickups on is dial back the neck volume a bit (same as on a J-bass).

i love dual volume- i can switch dynamics/tones more easily and have the option for stacatto effects, but i'm split between master and dual tone. on one hand i can switch between different amounts of treble bleed, but on the other hand sometimes i forget to turn the tone back up/down when i switch pickups:dunce:

I like having one knob, but if I had two I could keep both of my hands busy!
