I have to say, having had a Hiwatt...they are beautiful amps; I kind of wish I didn't sell the one I had, but it deserved a better home with more room to roam.
That said, if I hadn't sold it, I wouldn't have this Matchless, which is equally impressive, but is much more ME...which is kind of what it's all about.
I've never played a JTM45, but I'm guessing that the Clubman is based on that & really, I couldn't be any happier than with this amp. It's just a really full & rich amp either cranked up or turned down low...you kind of get the same lush tone all across the board, so no damn attenuator is needed.
A Master Volume on a tube amp that actually works IS A GOOD THING !!!
