Guys,
I'm blown away. This head isn't the one I want but it's damn incredible. I want a JP2C+ as it has Midi control and 2 Eq's which to me is the way to go.
I love the Mark 5 , it's sound quality for anything you want to do is point on. The clean channel is very nice and clear with NO break up. Thats what a clean channel should sound like. I like it a lot and I'm amazingly picky about my cleans and the Boogie nailed it.
On the Drive channels you get it , you get that chunky sound with killer Palm muting thunk I love. My Krank Murders this as It has it's own sound in doing Pam muting but the Boogie also has a unique sound which is just as good in it's own way. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.

By the way they had the 25 and 25 watt versions along with the full size head.
The 2 x 12 vertical cabinet is amazing and I really like the tone. It's one of the only V30 cab's I actually like. I usually don't like the V30 speaker but in that cabinet they sound awesome. Chunky which and clear. Love it guys!!!

Russo's is getting a JP2C in soon and I can't wait to plug in.

There are just so many great tones in the Mark V. I've had mine for almost four years and I still keep finding new tones and settings...it's hard to settle on one set. Mine is a 112 C-90 combo, and I use it with a 112 V-30 Closed Back Wide-Body cab.

I also have a Mark V:35 combo, and the Mark V:25 full-stack wih the Recto 112 slant and straight cabs. Also phenomenal amps, but a bit more straightforward. The Cab-Clone feature is great.

I recently got to play the Petrucci sig., and I didn't think I'd like it...and I was right, I loved it! Sure don't need another amp, and I do not not use those levels of gain, but it does Classic Rock and medium gain beautifully. Not sure I would trade the big Mark V for the Petrucci, but that is a killer amp.

One of my dealers had a custom cream bronco Mark V:25 with a matching Vertical 212 Recto and it was gorgeous! Mesa builds really solid and great sounding cabs, and I like it that they have so many beautiful vinyl and hardwood options.

Wow I forgot I wrote this already. I started another Mark V thread LOL. I think something is telling me I should own it.

I can't wait to plug into the JP2C.
But honestly I was totally happy with the Mark V 35 head and 2 x 12 vertical Rec cab. So now comes my question how do you control your Mark V? I saw a footswtich input on the back which looks to be like a midi like connection but isn't. Can you control this 3rd party? I like seamless control so I can build patches and what nots with effects and have the amp also do exactly what I want it to do. This is why I'm attracted to the JP2C as it has Midi and none of the other Mesa amps I looked at has. They all use a foot switch and with the amount of options most Mesa Heads offer, I can't see myself controlling them with their own footswitch. That would be tap dancing madness.
Here is why- I write a lot of songs that start out with clean channel with Chorus and delay and sometimes even reverb. Then I like to switch to the drive channel and not have any Chorus on. The delay is fine and sometimes the Reverb could be cool but I usually turn that off when I'm on the drive channel. So That would require switching the channel on the amp, turning off the Chorus and reverb and leaving the delay on. Thats to many things to do with your foot when the song requires this to happen immediately.
The JP2C could easily do that with Midi and along with my current Boss GT-100 but I'm looking to replace that unit I have out grown it for sound quality. I want better.

I just use the the Mesa footswitch. I don't do MIDI, LOL!

One thing to do before buying a Mesa...I recommend downloading and reading the amp's manual from the Mesa website. Or call them.

To use the MkV with a midi system you can either use the 1/4" external switching jacks, or get something like an Amp Gizmo or Mini Amp Gizmo and an adapter cable for the DIN cable. Just Google Mesa MkV midi, and a lot of pages with solutions will come up.
