Mesa Mini Rect Vs EVH III fifty

Im sorry to be putting up a ton of this Vs that threads, but there is no place round here to play these, let alone compare em.

Im helping a bud spend some money. (always fun) He thinks he wants the HK tubemiester 36, or one of the 2 in the title..

The HK has awesome features but I dont think will put out the gain of these two. Anyone thats played the mini recto and 5150 mini, how do they compare??

The 5150 III 50w is just amazing, I would definitely give it a try. Unless he is dying for a recto sound I would say 5150 III. Havnt tried the tubemiester 36 yet so cant help you there. If he plays more than metal it may be a look based off its reputation.

I haven't had the opportunity to play the 5153 yet, but I did own a Mini Rec and gigged it extensively for about a year.

The Mini Rec is just not my thing. I will tell you this if you need low volume tones this should NOT be your choice!!
I worked with a couple in local shops and these are LOUD amps really IMO defeating the purpose of owning a small head like this.
On the other hand the 5150 III 50 watt is stellar at low volumes. The 5150 III 50 watt is also much more organic and touch sensitive in comparison to the Mini Rec. IMO it's no contest 5150 III.
A better head to head would be the mini Carvin V-3/ 5150 III.

you can play the mini at the low watt mode, it works perfectly fine! I even plugged the evh in the same cab and tested it, they were very close to one another.

cool clips and review!!! I personally had a bad exp with a Carvin amp, so Im very afraid to try another. But that one sounds pretty darn tasty!! But I liked the comparo to the Mesa.. Wish I could have a direct 3 way comparo like this with the Mesa, 51503 and the HK tm 36. haha
