Mesa Roadster 2x12

Hey guys got I question...

I got this problem with my amp, after I've been playing with it for a couple of hours the amp turns into a thin and light distortion and sometimes it shuts down... the amp remains on...
the amp has this feature that removes the loop out of the signal chain and even there it sounds funny...

thanks for any comments
cheers

I'd give the tech support guys at Mesa a call asap. They are closed on Fridays. The should be able to point you in the right direction. Great guys...they have always been very helpful to me.

Based on my own experiences and on Mesa's own description, it sounds just like an internally shorting power tube.

When it happens, flip the standby as quickly as possible. Always carry an extra power tube or two with you. And try to get the heartiest tubes you can find for that amp from here on out. If that means paying extra for tubes that can take more voltage, so be it. It's worth it for the peace of mind you'll get when playing shows.

Yep, sounds like your tubes need some checking.

In general, when you cannot make a guess which one it is, I would just go at them one by one. In this case starting at the power tubes.
