Mesa S.O.B?

Re: Mesa S.O.B?

Are you sure of the validity of this product? Not just some rumor?

I don't even see it on the official Boogie site...

Re: Mesa S.O.B?

It's basically the successor to the Mk 1 with an early attempt at a built in attenuator. The Harmony Central reviews are interesting, it doesn't seem to be very sought after, but I bet it sounds good and is quite loud. Reliability or repair-ability might be questionable. Those old Mesa's have huge tone (and weight).

Yeah it was their attempt to rehash the mark I ... didn't fair well at all. The limit control as I remember choked of the phase inverter (I think, might be wrong on that) ... It certainly didn't sound like it drove the output tubes higher ... they were a bit sterile compared the the originals. Thing was they just didn't sound like the mark I's ... not sure of the circuit changes ... they faired about as well as the Fetron (or whatever they called it) preamp *tube* that was available around the time of the mark II ... what was that 15 years ago or so? If you could get one cheap enough then maybe you could bump it up internally to Mark IIB specs.
