if price doesnt matter get a bogner uberschall!
i agree with whoever said 6505/5150 for the tighter stuff. i think you'll get a very heavy sound with that. i think mesa though will give you a more full sound though, and with you being the only guitarist that would probably be better for your overall sound. i can get my recto pretty tight by having the eq set pretty flat - makes for good, fat, tight riffing. you can also set the vintage setting on channel 2 for fast riffing on the verses and set it to modern on channel 3... for big huge choruses. i think you'll get more versatility out of the mesa. i think the peavey is too much of a one trick pony.
who's sound do you want to emulate or would you improve on if you could?
If your band is a serious metalband, you don't want to sound radically different from the other guitarist. Sound engineers hate that and believe me, you want to be friends with them if you care one bit about your sound ...
The sound engineers get paid to do a job and if they can´t do it properly they should go fornicate themselves with a barbed Iron stick.
No, the GC I work at Doesnt have any Mesa's and GC in general does not carry Peavy AT ALL. They might get used ones in, but we dont carry em.
Your GC doesn't have any Mesas??????
GC is a HUGE Mesa dealer. That's insane. You guys just don't stock them?
No, only certain GCs are. If there's another another store that sells them Mesa won't give GC a dealership.
If you want more of a crushing, brutal, loose, not so defined, not so cutting tone, then the Recto is what you want.
Honestly, just go play one and see what you like/dislike about it, and report back to us.
What is it you don't like exactly about the Über? It sounds more like a refined, juicy, liquidy, creamy, high end 5150 to me - not so much 900 there.
Metal - if you like the Überschall but didn't like your 5150, you were playing it through the wrong speakers, or it was ****ed. Furthermore, if you liked a Stiletto over a 5150... you should be shot in the face. :laugh2:
