Sure, its more expensive (and made in USA) but it looks like it offers a lot of tonal options to someone like me who's into lower wattage stuff......IDK but I'll definitely try one of these locally when they come in.....

looks cool
i'm inclined to dig it given i have loved M/B products (mostly from afar) for a long time ...
wonder what its price point will be and if it will come in a combo version

The worst being the rectrumfriers, close second is the Stilettos......

Ack! Must ... focus ... on ... White ... Falcon ... fund ...
STICK WITH IT, MAN! YOU CAN DO IT!!!! THINK OF THE PAYOFF!!

(I was thinking when I typed the OP....If I like it that much after playing it, I'll start up one of those funds like RD.....you MUST prove it can be done!)

Re: Mesa's Answer to TinyTerror & Night Train....

I miss the days of big walls of marshall stacks... But it both excites and angers me about all these small amps..
Excites because you can get good tones without head popping volume. And these are more affordable..
Angers me because they are just out of my reach price wise, pls I want them all.. Can get 2 or 3 or the little guys for the price of one reg head..

Im anxious to see this one. cant open the link at work..

sums up exactly what i love about them

5w mode is so sweet on the LSS - get the tubes cooking without earbleeding in rehearsal and small room gigs - want high headroom cleans? go to full power and just throttle back the gain - instant chime ... have an opportunity to really open it up? one click to full power

i imagine it will be the same with this new amp

I can appreciate the utility.

I get frustrated when I try them in stores, because everyone tells me how great they sound, and I've simply never heard one that sounded good, and I fully and completely understand that this is very likely because I've never had the time to flip all the switches and turn all the knobs and get behind it and select my tube complement and power scale to get one in the sweet spot.

I am basically a gorilla with a driver's license, and the simpler amps appeal to my simple peanut brain :approve:

I saw on TTK's utube channel last night. He did a pre-NAMM shouting. It sounded pretty good.

+1

....and its really not that complicated when you break it down to channel then modes within each channel -easy for me to say -my mesa (subwayblues) has fewer knobs than any they've made!) & I have played and liked the Expresses which have a similar channel/mode thing going on....

Looks like alot of versatility .....but I'll have to wait to try one.....

stay tuned for FS trading post listings if I like it:1:

Re: Mesa's Answer to TinyTerror & Night Train....

Holy cow does this thing look fantastic. What's going on with the cut thing? Do you pull for the master and then adjust cut with the knob pushed back in? Is it an either/or thing? What does cut mean, anyway? Man do I need a demo...

Re: Mesa's Answer to TinyTerror & Night Train....

I'm not much of a Mesa fan myself but even that looks impressive to me. I like the specs of it. Much simpler layout than many other Mesa's I've messed around with.

The Master/Cut push/pull looks to work where when you pull it out, it cuts it from the circuit so it's as if the Master Volume isn't even there. Push it back in to utilize the Master Volume. Not a bad idea really.

Curious what the street price will be not to mention how it sounds.
