Metal Plate under a Strat Stack...

Most of us know that one of the things you can do to get better tone (more like a Tele) from your Strat's bridge pickup is to attach a metal baseplate underneath it and seal it to eliminate microphonics. Can you do the same thing and achieve the same results to a stacked humbucker? I know that the STK-T3b has a metal plate...

I don't see why not. The way I attached a baseplate to my Fender CS 57/62 bridge pickup was by using silicone gasket maker. I just applied it between the steel plate and the bottom of the pickup.

It attached and potted the plate in one step and is easily removed without hurting the pickup.

After that I just ran a wire from the plate to the back of the volume pot and was done.

Thanks for the reply Benjy, but I know it can be done. I've done it on several Strat bridge pickups. What I'm after is will the tonal effcts be the same on a stacked humbucker as on a regular single coil pickup.
