I couldn't resist I put the dimebucker out of My FBD Dean in my strat and yes it still sounds pretty much like a strat.
I learned something about mahogany and maple top on the dean and alder body maple neck on strat I guess.

Does anyone know of any "other" reason the strat doesn't sound near as metal a tone with the same dimebucker.
Any reply is appreciated here to learn from!!
Thanks...

Re: Metal strat, maybe not.

lots of variables there. obviously different woods, different construction, different scale length, different bridge, possibly different pots & electronics setup (i have no clue about strat electronics), etc.

Ahh, as I thought, waay over my head.
Very informative!!!:headbang:
Thanks

Re: Metal strat, maybe not.

Its like going from a Chevelle into a Jeep. Two different beasts. Now if you were going from that Dean into a Gibson flying V, there'd be more room for discussion about slight variables, but the Strat and Dean are different in every single way possible/.

Re: Metal strat, maybe not.

The Great God of Fender probably isn't a metal fan. Maybe if you sacrifice some lambs in the name of Hendrix, your guitar will become empowered...or possibly its coz of the difference in neck scale, and the bridge (tremolo vs tune-o-matic...mabe all the cavities ake the sound resonate in a way which doesn't agree with metal?)
