Re: Metal/Thrash bridge for Alder body/Maple neck
well, you could put 500k pots with push/pulls and 250k resistors that way you could switch tween the bright open sound of the 500k pots and the warm sound of 250k pots by just pullin your knobs, that addas a lot of versatility since at 500k mode you can have your vol alp open and your tone on like 5-6 and have your normal thrash sound, open your tone and add extra crisp to your palmmutes (like on all the classic 80's thrash breakdowns, like on indians) and swith to 250k for creamier soloing or for clean passages to add extra warmth and a more acoustic quality to the tone
on top of that other cool mods and tricked out wirings for thrash guitar are the blower switch (to go from whatever your controls are on to the bridge pickup at full blast with a single switch), the killswitch (machinegun/tremolo at your fingers, some prefer arcade style buttons and others preffer the classic levers for a quick mute also), a Qfilter (bill lawrence circuit, there are 2 types, one wich acts like a tone shift rather than a brighness control and one that makes the pickup sound like it's lower output), and finally a tightness knob/bass cut/bass contour (its a bass roll off, like your tone knob but for bass instead of highs)
