Metal Tone

Re: Metal Tone

Ain't knockin the pedal. Just sayin...you got a real nice tube amp to put a real nice stompbox through. That makes it a worthwhile investment ;).

However, putting an expensive stompbox through a mid-entry-level solid state amp such as the GFX-65 would be kinda like putting Duncans in a plywood strat-copy. Might make it sound a bit better, but you're limited by the platform.

Re: Metal Tone

If you want to sound like Megadeth, why not find out what they are using and get the same stuff?

JB pickup, Marshall Amp, .....

Do some research.

Gotchya. I didn't see that he was using the crate amp. Big difference right there. A new amp would be a better investment for sure then.

Re: Metal Tone

hard to find a great sounding amp that is priced fair :(

2.Hand Laneys are very fair priced! If you find a LC50 ,LC 30 (combos ,so you don't have to buy cabinets) ,they are great amps! With great gain channel and fx loops!
