Metal zone for old school black metal?

Can the boss metal zone do the sound of early black metal, i'm thinking about especially about Bathory. It sounds like the dist on metallicas kill 'em all.

That dist is made with a Rat through a Modded Plexi head.

That is a very middy sound, kinda rhoadsy imo, Metal Zone sounds like bunch of bees in a metal container, try a Dist+ maybe?

Any nasty/unrefined sounding distortion pedal would do. The boss sound is almost too refined. I used to have a nasty sounding DOD pedal that I bought used for like $20. It was so beat to hell and I don't even remember what the name was. It would have worked perfectly for an old school BM sound.

For whatever reason I think his most fitting tone was on "Blood Fire Death"

You have to also remember Quarthon didn't have an extensive recording setup, which is another reason for the nasty garage-y sound on a lot of his stuff. I wouldn't doubt that some of his early stuff wasn't done simply with a 4 track.
