Metalhead lookin for new pickups in a Mahogany Ibanez

Hi! I currently have an Ibanez RG 5sumthin with a mahogany body, quilted sapaoel (sp) cap, ibanez locking trem, and rosewood neck. I put an evolution in it, and it sounds allright, but I was hoping maybe it could sound better.

pickups I"m considering for bridge

Dmz Megadrive
SD Distortion Trembucker
SD Custom Trembucker
SD Parralel Axis Dist Trembucker
SD Full Shred
Neck, no idea yet

I wanna tryout SD mainly, cuz all my other guitars have Dimarzios

I play metal mainly through an ADA mp-1

I really like Children of Bodom, Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Early Megadeth and Metallica, and some Helloween, and the Misfits.

As for whose tone is my favorite, I don"t know, but I just heard Mr. Scary and Lynch sounded pretty friggin awesome.

Baisically I want something where I can play fast as hell riffs on lower strings but still get a really nice thick lead soud when soloing. And I want some crushing palm mutes and lotsa pinch harmonics.

Versitality would be nice, but its not vital.

I do like a good clean sound though, may from a split neck pickup

Anyway, I"d be grateful for any suggestions, right now I"m leaning toward the Distortion

And whats the difference between the Parralel Axis and regular distortion?

Thanx

What was wrong with the Evolution?

The differences between the PA and TB6 Distortion are that the PA has 2 extra poles per string giving fuller tone, great for live work, and has a penetrating, thick mid section, good for those leads and rhythm.

The TB6 compared to the PA version, has a more open mid-section, tight, but more high mids.

Maybe there's wiring differences, but I didn't install either one of mine.

Don't rule out the new Dave Mustaine Livewire humbucker set!

for mahogany, i'd look at either the custom, custom 5 or invader first.. depends what kind of tone you're after!

the parellel axis pickups have a magnet either side of the string's path, meaning there's a lot less string pull. the normal distortion is a much more conventional humbucker!

Hmm, so is the PA axis better than the normal distortion?

It probably costs more tho....

Oh, and its not that I dont like the EVo, its just that I have it in another guitar and was curious if I could get a better tone from something else, and I never tried duncan before.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I don"t want any actives....sorry

So someone thought the Custom would be better than the Distortion?

Do you know A7X? If not listen to some songs off of Waking the Fallen. The guitarsists use Invaders into Mahogany Schecters getting the most heavy drop D tone out there.

Better... I dunno....

It costs $20 more than the traditional Distortion (SH6 and TB6).

I have City of Evil from ax7. I guess its a pretty good tone, not exactly what I"m after tho. Btw, sorry if this is redundant, but I dont know if I mentioned that I play through an ADA mp-1 througha rocktron velocity preamp and Peavy cab. Im gonna look stupid if I find out I wrote that already, oops.
