Yah. Use 'em on kick drums, toms, assorted percussion... timbales, conga... dejembe... tambourine's & shakers, guitar amps, bass amps, upright bass... fiddle... horns, leslie & keys... melodica... vocals, lotta hardcore & punk "screamo" stuff but even really great vocalists too... it's a broadcast mic like the RE20 & SM7... they get substituted a lot.
And no, the clips don't always break.
They will if you put the safety tape in the wrong place. I've had mine for a long time & they were old when I got 'em... if 'ya take care of your stuff the clips are fine.
