Mid-90s Carvin DC-127 doubts

Re: Mid-90s Carvin DC-127 doubts

Hi again,

so I just took a couple of pictures to the back of the pickups. They are a set of DiMarzio´s as some of you had guessed. However, I do not know which models. Any of you can shed some light on the particular model, according to these pictures?

OK, thanks!

I have to say that I really like the neck pickup. I found it to be an excellent pick up. The one in the bridge I am not so sure of.

Yeah, the PAF Pro was the one DMZ pickups that I actually liked, the Fred is a shredder pickup, might be one's cup of tea but not another's.

Concerning the Floyd, I looked at the photos again and it looks like it is a Schaller copy (but I'd need clearer photos of the entire unit to know for sure).
Now you might want to have confirmation from someone more knowledgeable than me on Carvins but I do believe they always used OFRs (not sure if they ever used the Kahler Steeler) while I have also read multiple times that the OFR and the Schaller are not (always) cross-compatible due to a difference in mounting points.

That might be why you're having stability problems.

If that is indeed the case then you will need to replace the Floyd unit with either an OFR or direct copy of it (I personally prefer and recommend the Gotoh GE1996T but YMMV)
