MIghty Mite Motherbuckers

Anyone use these? I got a couple of pairs in cheap guitars and they don't seem half bad for a high output inexpensive pickup. I was wondering if anyone has tried changing the magnets out in these? I was wondering what they would sound like with an A2 in them.

YES, my first pup change in my Epi LP goth was a pair of motherbuckers, yes they are "not bad" they are loud and heavy, but I felt lacked dynamics, harmonics just sounded too dull....the bridge model was comparable to a Invader in power and punch, but pinch harmonics were dull and weak.
I think a A2 in a MB would be the worst choice due to this....maybe it would be cool in the neck slot.(if you like the rolled off tone ,overdriven smooth fat sound there like i do)
Motherbuckers look awesome(black screws and pole pieces) and maybe in a bright guitar would be usable for me, but in my mahogany Axes I gotta go with Duncans for clairity and dynamics.

I found exactly what you were saying and was ready to give up on them all together until I stuck a set in a poplar bodied strat. They still aren't the holy grail, but they seem to come alive more in a lighter bodied guitar. As you did, I went to Dimazios or Duncans in the heavy bodied axes

I dunno... If they're anything like the Kramer Quadrails they're not much chop for anything in the stock format imo. Certainly no good in alder.
