MIM? MIJ? Ants?

Hey guys!

I've been reading this forum for a while and I still have yet to grasp what the abbreviations MIM and MIJ mean? Could someone please inform me :)

And as for antiquities, are they Seymour Duncan pickups? I don't see any pickups on the tone chart listed as antiquities?

Thanks in advance
Bee

Re: MIM? MIJ? Ants?

MIA = Made in Australia (joking!!) America
MIC = Made in China
MII = Made in India
MIK = Made in Korea
MOSP = Made out Spare Parts
MOMG = Made out Many Guitars ("Blackie")
MIBY = Made in Back Yard
MIB = Made in Bedroom
MIO = Made it Online

:rolleyes: :32: :saeek:

Re: MIM? MIJ? Ants?

The Antiquitys (or Ants) are wound in the Duncan Custom Shop...mostly by MJ. She told me she winds 90% of them and Seymour winds the rest. They're my favorites...just a bit more texture and complexity to the tone. I've been using the Antiquity II Strat pickups in my MIJ Strat. That guitar has had many, many differant sets of pickups over the years but none finer than the Antiquitys. Lew

I dunno that is why I have just asked him to clarify what he means before everyone starts having a go at him. But as this thread is all to do with identification of where guitars are made and also the SD Ants, I would have thought that's what he is referring to??

BTW I am not having a go at him or you.
