Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
So I often use this little board for practice instead of my fx unit and amp head. Just ultra small/light/easy. But I have just added the Mooer DI to it, so now, I could theoretically play with just this direct if I wanted. SO I will carry this to gigs as my Just In Case amp-blows backup.

- I removed the Black Secret. While a cool pedal, I just wasn't juicing cranked Marshalls with it. 18v mode is bad@$$ though!!!!
- The Solo (Suhr Riot) gives me a great all round distortion tone
- The Pure Boost (XP Exotic) gives me whatever lead boost I want
- Ensemble King (Boss CE-2) for a little swirl or color if needed
- Reecho (Analog DD-7 setting?) on analog for all my delay needs

Obviously nothing exotic there, but it would get the job done.

Even I could gig with that.

Re: Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

You know what...I might just steal your idea and do the same. Beats bringing a second amp to a gig.

Re: Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

I wouldn't be thrilled about it - but I used it (without DI) into an amp once and it went fine...

Just nice knowing in about 3 minutes I can be totally recovered.

Re: Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

Nice board, might as well throw one of the Mooer Mini preamps on there and have a real 2 channel DI solution.

Re: Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

Used it tonight at a practice. Worked great!

Steve Dallas arrives on time and ready for anything or your name isn't Steve Dallas.

Re: Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

I would swap the DI for a Mooer micro preamp, but good idea for a Plan B setup.

Re: Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

I was considering the Micro-Pre in another thread....

Re: Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

Sorry, can't recall/find that thread. Which preamp were you considering? The AMT 2 series are great too, but wouldn't fit with your mini-theme.

Re: Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

The Mooer one.

I was debating adding spots to my little board - getting the preamp and the DI box. But Since I always use the Solo - no need for Preamp really...I like the straight solo tone. IF needed, I'd get an EQ for after it.

Steve Dallas? Ready for anything means a Dean Cadillac, a solo boost, and a bottle of Jack.

His roadie, however, is some sort of consultant guy who did this Failure Mode Effects Analysis and said something about prevention and mitigation blah blah blah....

The reason I got the Mooer mini preamp is because is has a very good cab simulator.

My rehearsal rig is guitar > MXR distortion plus > mini preamp > PA

There are 18 flavors (so far), we are apparently talking about different things.

2 channel modeling pedals of preamps and build in cab sim that you can turn on or off. I've tried a few, they sound really good.

I love those cheeky descriptions that go along with modeling products. “Here’s us saying what we can’t say.”

Harking back to the very early 90’s, the BROWN SOUND from MOOER recreates all the nuances and gainful mayhem of one of the most iconic signature amplifiers in guitar history. :chairfall

This hits too close to home.

Re: Mini-board update - Now it is Emergency Mini-board

Man I must just have fat feet, I can't hardly step on full size pedals without hitting half of them. I dig that board but I'd be screwed.

You don't HAVE to put them that close!

Could be six inches between them with 6" patch cords.

Pointy-toe cowboy boots help....
