Minihumbucker ID

I got these pickups from a cheapo Fibson.
While 2 of them look like chinese and read about 14K, the other one has braided hook up wire and longer legs.
This pickup is a little smaller than the two others. It has 2.575 inch length.
Width of 1.082 inch is the same on all pickups.
The resistance of the smaller pickup reads just 6.2K.
The baseplate looks a little like those of the old Firebird pickups or Minihumbuckers from the 60ties.
But this one has chrome plating and the cover has got sharp edges.
From my understang chrome covered Gibson minihumbuckers came with engraved patent number baseplates.
What brand could this one be? It doesn´t look new. I think older Dimarzios came with different baseplates and higher resistance.
Duncan Antiquities seem to have shorter legs.

Re: Minihumbucker ID

Looks like a possible patent sticker worn off it. Could be a Gibson that was recovered. 6.4k feels low to me, though. Maybe a rebuild on an old Gibson plate?

Re: Minihumbucker ID

Yes looks like it could have been opened at some time. Maybe just one coil is connected. The orange color I can see through the holes of the baseplate looks strange, too. Maybe just something from wax potting. I don´t know if it is easy to open it. Don´t want to destroy it, if it could have some value.

Re: Minihumbucker ID

not sure what it is but 6.4k is about right for an old firebird pup

Re: Minihumbucker ID

so that low resistance reading is right for an old firebird pickup
the baseplate could be from an old Gibson pickup
but the small chrome cover with that sharp edges looks wrong
