Mission Amps: Hollow State, Amp Building Classes in Colorado?

Re: Mission Amps: Hollow State, Amp Building Classes in Colorado?

Bruce - if you can handle two choices, I'd suggest something for first-timers and another amp for guys with one or two builds under their belts who want to build "the bomb". Maybe a BF Vibrochamp or a 5E3 for starters.

A BF Deluxe Reverb circuit has a heck of a lot going on in it - switch to bias-vary tremelo and you've got a classic amp IMHO. (Mojo's site is down right now so I can't see what their other choices are...) The D'Lite takeoff of a Dumble seems like a great amp with some complexity to it but I don't think Mojo offers one. A hot-rodded JCM800 (2204) would be awesome for me, especially with help on tweaking the circuit.

On second thought, the AB763 circuit is a classic and you could add a Dwell control or PPIMV, play with the tone stacks, add a Mid and/or Raw control... you get my drift.

2 cents or less

Chip

Bruce Egnator has been running such weekend events (mostly in MI) for a year or two now and seems to be reasonably successful. I know a number of TGP members have attended and been quite happy with the results (I think his standard build is a plexi-ish amp).

I'll post a query on TGP referring to this thread to see if there's any interest over there.

Yes I think he is doing an Egnater modifed, MOJO JTM45 head kit, but, I also have heard very good things about the program.
The $1600.00 per student price tag might be little tough for many casual and or novice builders.

i think a princeton with a 12" would be a great build amp

I'd love to do something like this!! Unfortunately, geography is a little against me...:D
I'd love a JTM-45 type amp build...

I realize this is an old thread but...

Any updates about the classes?

I'd love to go since I am in dire need of an amp. Although I'd need enough advanced warning to save up enough money.
