Bruce - if you can handle two choices, I'd suggest something for first-timers and another amp for guys with one or two builds under their belts who want to build "the bomb". Maybe a BF Vibrochamp or a 5E3 for starters.
A BF Deluxe Reverb circuit has a heck of a lot going on in it - switch to bias-vary tremelo and you've got a classic amp IMHO. (Mojo's site is down right now so I can't see what their other choices are...) The D'Lite takeoff of a Dumble seems like a great amp with some complexity to it but I don't think Mojo offers one. A hot-rodded JCM800 (2204) would be awesome for me, especially with help on tweaking the circuit.
On second thought, the AB763 circuit is a classic and you could add a Dwell control or PPIMV, play with the tone stacks, add a Mid and/or Raw control... you get my drift.
