I've got an RG neck that has the stress cracks in the usual spot around the rear mount nut holes. It's actually pretty bad. It has been fixed, but not real cleanly. I'm thinking I'll just drill the rear mount holes out and dowel them, then go back in with a top mount nut.
I'm not worried about looks, I'm going in with walnut rod, and I think it will be stronger than ever afterwards, but I am worried about how close all this is to the truss rod.
Has anyone done this before?
