Modding a pedal to work as a momentary one... Can this be done?

Hey. I've got a reissued DOD 440 Filter pedal that I really like. It sounds great and I love the funky sounds I can get from it, but I was wondering if there's a way I can replace the true bypass latching switch for an unlatching one... so that the effect is only on when my foot is pressing the pedal down?

Is it possible to somehow mod or add this type of feature to a pedal.

As an alternative, I saw that EHX makes something called a "Chill Switch" that adds this feature in the form of a momentary send/return effects loop, but it needs a power supply and takes up more room on my board.

Assuming that the DOD pedal is already out of warranty, open it up and take a look. Identify the component number of the stock latching switch. See whether the same manufacturer offers a directly compatible unlatching version.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Can you post a pic of the inside of the pedal and connections? You probably don't need to match the manufacturer of the switch, just the way it's wired.

This is a really cool idea. I always loved the phaser stomps on "Unchained" and this would make that sort of thing a lot easier.
